We only pour wines from the vineyards in the area around Salem in our educational sessions!

The Willamette Valley has 11 smaller growing areas nested within the larger valley. The newest nested AVA is the Van Duzer Corridor which was established in 2019.

The first vineyards were planted in the mid 1960s.

This area has unique soils that differentiate it from the vineyards in other parts of the Willamette Valley.

American Viticultural Areas (AVAs) are created as geographical growing areas based on the characteristics in a region.

Tastings and classes

Stop by Studio Vino Wine Hub in The Holman Hotel (downtown Salem) during drop-in hours for impromptu lessons using local wines to learn about the grape varieties and history of the Willamette Valley AVA. Reservations not needed.
